Foreign Broadcast Information Service Daily Reports: Jisc Collections Selection: 2014-2019

The Foreign Broadcast Information Service (FBIS) Daily Report has been purchased by Jisc Collections. Covering the period 1974–1996 in the Middle East and North Africa, South Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa and Eastern Europe, the Jisc Collections Selection of the Foreign Broadcast Information Service (FBIS) Daily Reports includes a wealth of transcripts of broadcasts and news from around the world all translated into the English language. The content has been purchased in perpetuity and access is available from the publisher's website. With effect from September 2014 Higher Education Institutions must pay an access fee in order to use the publisher's website. No access fees for Further Education, Specialist Colleges and Research Councils are due for this renewal period. All Institutions can opt to self-host the content in perpetuity for a one-off fee of £1,659 plus VAT.

Institution of Civil Engineers Virtual Library Archive (1836-2002)

ICE Publishing

Institutions now have free online access to the full text of every paper published by the Institution of Civil Engineers between 1836 and 2002, representing over 200,000 pages of information. The content has been purchased in perpetuity, and access via the publisher's server is free until 31/12/2018. An access fee may apply after this date, but institutions can choose to self-host the content for a one-off fee of £500 + VAT.

IOP Journal Archive 1874-1998 (access period 2015 to 2019)

Institutions now have free online access to over 110,000 articles and 1.5 million pages of research from 40 journals published by the Institute of Physics between 1874 and 1998. The content has been purchased in perpetuity, and access via the publisher's server is free until 31/12/2019. An access fee may apply after this date, but institutions can choose to self-host the content free of charge.

Migration to New Worlds

Migration to New Worlds, which has been purchased in perpetuity by Jisc, is a multi-archive collection that provides a wide-ranging and in-depth look at the movement of peoples from Great Britain, Ireland, mainland Europe and Asia to the New World and Australasia during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

Thousands of unique primary documents are presented from 15 contributing archives, libraries and museums, including material from the National Archives UK, British Library, Maritime Museum of San Diego, Museum Victoria and the Tenement Museum (New York).

English, Scandinavian, Irish, Italian, Jewish, Polish and Scottish migrant experiences are well represented, along with a rich variety of documents covering Chinese and Japanese migration to the United States and indentured labour in the West Indies.
