Summary
The core aims of the journals working group, as defined in the JISC Collections strategy:
- Continue to support national negotiations designed to lower the cost of access to electronic journals
- Facilitate debate and, where appropriate, action to help implement possible long-term solutions to the spiralling costs of scholarly communication
- Promote the wider adoption of e-print archives and other models for the dissemination of scholarly information in the UK
The journals working group prepares and annually updates a work programme, consisting of a schedule of activities and target outcomes, for annual endorsement by the JISC Content Services committee.
