Geospatial Resources Working Group
The geospatial resources working group provides advice on
collecting and development priorities for geospatial resources through
a process which identifies and responds to user needs and supports the
execution of the JISC Collections
Evaluation Framework (incorporating the JISC
Collections strategy and the JISC Development strategy).

Summary
The core aims of the geospatial resources working
group, as defined in the JISC Collections strategy:

Secure and promote access to a critical mass of high quality geospatial
content including sufficient discovery tools

Provide the UK educational community with seamless access to
geospatial resources through encouraging the use of international
standards to promote interoperability

Continue to invest in the creation of tools to make these technically
challenging resources more easily accessible
A work programme is prepared annually by the geospatial
resources working group covering the next year period. This will be
submitted annually for endorsement to the April/May JCS meeting.
