Digital Images for Education

JISC and JISC Collections are pleased to announce a series of three tenders to provide digital images for use by the UK education community (schools, further education and higher education). The three calls will comprise:

The images should record key people and events across the world, covering five broad subject areas:

  1. History (UK, European and world history)
  2. Social sciences (including politics, economics, education and environment)
  3. Science, engineering and technology
  4. Art and creative industries (including images of buildings and works of art)
  5. Geography (emphasising exploration and the changing world)

The tender will require image rights to be granted for perpetual use within education. For all three tenders, suppliers will be required to provide metadata that complies with the project criteria.

For the first two tenders, the images supplied must refer to the most recent 25 years. This restriction does not apply to the third tender.
