Credo Reference starts the new year with new titles, features and functionality
Formerly known as xrefer, Credo Reference is an online reference library, which offers access to the full text of over 270 reference titles from 57 publishers. New content has recently been added to Credo Reference, with 75 new and updated titles released since June 2006. New features and functionality has also been added to Credo, including the “Did you mean?” suggestions, which offer improved fuzzy searching, unique cross-references, MARC records with new 13-digit ISBNs, dynamic statistics tables and COUNTER compliant usage statistics for cost-usage analysis.
Animations and sound clips have recently been added as well as the ability to customise the resource. Animations include ocean currents, how joints work, how planes fly, watch a black hole form, see the digestive system working and the Battle of the Somme.
Credo Reference customisation features
- Users can customise this resource by adding a Welcome message and by placing your institution's logo in the top-right corner of the Credo Reference interface
- Ask-a-librarian Service - if you provide online customer support from your library web site you can link to your service from all Credo Reference pages
- You may customise the resource by linking to your institution's OpenURL link server. Users will then be able to view links to external resources when viewing items
- You can customise the resource by adding 3 custom menu links to the main menu. These links will allow your users to navigate from Credo Reference to any location of your choice
- You can also set your search ranking preferences by default to either, relevance, longer entries preferred, images preferred or audio preferred. The ranking option you select will become the default ranking for search results. All other ranking options remain available to users by selecting them when reviewing results
