Tender for the Development and Supply of a JISC Content Presentation Layer

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS CALL HAS NOW EXPIRED!
JISC and JISC Collections have invested in digitised and licensed content across a huge range of subject areas, formats and historical periods for the benefit of the UK education community. This content is held in over 100 separate collections, each with their own website and interface. Currently, however, there is no unified way to present all these collections as a portfolio of JISC-funded content and the nature of JISC and JISC Collections involvement in making this range of content available to the UK education community is unclear to funding bodies, academic institutions and end users.

To help overcome this and to help derive the maximum benefit from this investment, JISC and JISC Collections are seeking proposals to develop and supply a presentation layer across all the collections. Based on a deep understanding of both the collections and their potential users, the presentation layer should reveal the richness of the collections and offer multiple methods of finding the collections, such as by historical period or subject area.

For a copy of the tender please contact Michael Upshall (m.upshall@jisc.ac.uk)

Closing date: 7 October 2009
