Access to over 464,000 articles from 22 journals published between 1879 and 1995. Titles include some of the most highly-cited journals in the field, such as Chemical Reviews, the Journal of the American Chemical Society, and the Journal of Organic Chemistry.

Bibliographic information on subjects ranging from traditional areas of biology such as botany, zoology and microbiology to related fields such as agriculture, pharmacology, bio-physics, ecology, bio-engineering and experimental clinical medicine.

Includes over 50,000 articles from more than 80 journals published before 2000. Subjects covered include biology, humanities, human rights, international law, science, and the social sciences. Titles include one of the world's oldest academic journals on Chinese studies, T’oung Pao.
British and Irish Legal Information Institute (BAILII) Open Law Project
Following funding from JISC, thousands of core historical legal judgements and law reports relating to Britain and Ireland have been digitised, and are now freely available and cross searchable on the BAILII website.
British Periodicals Collections I & II
British Periodicals traces the development and growth of the periodical press in Britain from its origins in the seventeenth century through to the Victorian "age of periodicals" and beyond. This unique digital archive consists of almost 500 periodical runs published from the 1680s to the 1930s, comprising six million keyword-searchable pages and forming an unrivalled record of more than two centuries of British history and culture.
Burney Collection
Access to nearly 1 million pages from 1,270 parliamentary papers, pamphlets, proclamations, newsbooks, and newspapers published in England, Ireland and Scotland, plus papers from British colonies in the Americas and Asia between 1600–1800. Until now, access to the Burney Collection has been very restricted – both in print and online. The corpus of printed materials – originally collated by the Reverend Charles Burney (1757–1817) – has been housed at the British Library but, due to its value and fragility, it has not been available for general use.
Digital Library of Core E-Resources on Ireland
Collection of 620,000 pages and around 80 key journals, 210 monographs and more than 2,500 manuscript pages providing online access to a comprehensive, multi–disciplinary digital library of research materials relating to Ireland, spanning the 18th century to present.
Early English Books Online – Text Creation Partnership
22.5 million pages from more than 125,000 books have been digitised to create an extraordinary record of the English-speaking world from 1473 to 1700. The resource is being further enhanced through the JISC-funded TEXT Creation Project which is re-keying 20% of the titles in the collection to make them fully searchable for the first time.

Access to over 1,400 volumes and 0.5 million pages of official Parliamentary publications that include Parliamentary Papers, Bills, registers and Journals covering the period 1688-1834.
Foreign Broadcast Information Service Daily Reports, JISC Collections Selection
Covering the period 1974–1996 in the Middle East and North Africa, South Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Eastern Europe, the JISC selection of the FBIS Daily Report includes a wealth of transcripts of broadcasts and news from around the world translated into English.
Historic Digimap
Access to historical Ordnance Survey maps covering Great Britain from 1843 to 1995. The maps can be viewed on screen, printed at a range of scales, and downloaded for use with application software such as GIS and CAD.
Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) Virtual Library Archive
Access to the full text of every paper published by the Institution of Civil Engineers between 1836 and 2001, representing over 200,000 pages of information.
Internet Archaeology Archive
Access to issues 1–12 of the pioneering e-only journal Internet Archaeology, published between 1996 and 2006. Includes full colour images, video footage, virtual reality models, searchable datasets, and interactive mapping.
IOP Journal Archive
Includes over 140,000 articles from the 40 journals published by the Institute of Physics between 1874 and 1998, and covering the most significant developments in the history of physics.
Nineteenth Century British Library Newspapers
As part of the £22 million JISC Digitisation Programme, almost 1 million pages from the British Library's unique collection of nineteenth century national and regional newspapers are now cross-searchable online.
Nineteenth Century British Pamphlets
Digitisation of some 26,000 paper copy pamphlets, totalling over 1 million page images that focus on the political, economic and social issues that fuelled the great Parliamentary debates and controversies of the 19th century.
Nineteenth Century House of Commons Parliamentary Papers
Access to over 6,000 volumes and 4 million pages of official Parliamentary publications that include debates, proceedings and reports of their committees and outside bodies on public affairs printed between 1801 and 1900.
Nineteenth Century UK Periodicals Online, Series 1
Access to the full text of 100 titles and 1.2 million pages from periodicals (for women and children, and those focusing on humour and sport) published in the UK between 1800 and 1900. Also offers an extensive library of newly captured images, including approximately 8,000 in colour.

Contains over 3 million articles from more than 140 journals published by Oxford University Press between 1849 and 1995. Subject coverage is broad – from the humanities and social sciences to science, medicine, and law.
Periodicals Archive Online – JISC Collections Selection
Access to over 288,000 articles from 80 journals published between 1891 and 2000 and spanning a wide range of disciplines in the arts, humanities, and social sciences. Titles include the British Journal of Psychology, History Today, Literary Review, Foreign Affairs, and the Sloan Management Review.
RSC Journals Archive
Fully searchable digital archive of almost 1.4 million pages of the 238,000 original articles published between 1841-2004 by the Royal Society of Chemistry (and its forerunner societies).

Provides important source material for historians of Scotland. They comprise county and parish descriptions compiled by Church of Scotland clergy across a critical 40-50 year period during the agricultural and industrial revolutions, and cover topics such topography, climate, population, agriculture, schools, fishing, and morals.

Access to over 100,000 papers and 5.2 million pages of working documents of the British Government from 1901-2004.
Web of Science Backfiles
JISC has purchased the following Web of Science backfiles: Science Citation Index Expanded 1970–1980; Social Sciences Citation Index 1970–1980; and Arts & Humanities Citation Index 1975–1980. These are available at no extra charge to all institutions that subscribe to the Web of Science agreement
