Functionality and standards compliance

Full text linking

In addition to the full text of the works contained within Oxford Handbooks Online, the resource provides extensive reference linking from bibliographies and footnotes, including OpenURL support (for products such as SFX) and via stable DOI links to matching resources.

Editorially selected and created links to related content in Oxford Scholarship Online and other online resources from Oxford University Press and to contributors' web sites, articles, and monographs.

Direct links from online bibliographies and reading lists can be made to individual books and chapters within Oxford Handbooks Online via DOIs.

Federated searching

Oxford Handbooks Online is not Z39.50 compliant. The site is however SRU 1.1 compliant.

Metadata standards
