Access to this resource allows users to manipulate the images to suit their educational needs outside the AMIG interface. This pedagogical flexibility is enabled by all the images being cleared for educational use.

The Art Museum Image Gallery is a rich digital resource of art images and related multimedia gathered from the collections of distinguished museums around the world. Through an arrangement with The Art Archive of the Picture Desk Inc. an additional 62,000 images were added to the database in January 2007. Spanning works from 3,000BC to the 20th century, The Art Archive is a fine art and historical picture library with works from over 1,800 distinguished sources worldwide.

Access to this resource allows users to manipulate the images to suit their educational needs outside the AMIG interface. This pedagogical flexibility is enabled by all the images being cleared for educational use.
AMIG includes:
- Over 155,000 superior quality images with a full bibliographic record. Many include curatorial text, provenance data, detail or multiple views for many images, and related multimedia where available.
- Full bibliographic records accompany every image. All images are offered in three sizes, including a high resolution based on the traditional 1024 x 760 pixel sizing.
- Superb coverage of contemporary and modern artists.
- Coverage of both fine and decorative art: painting, sculpture, drawings, prints, photographs, textiles, costumes, jewelry, ceramics, furniture, glass, books and manuscripts, archaeological finds, and more.
- Cultures and time periods represented range from contemporary art, Native American and Inuit art, to ancient Greek, Roman and Egyptian works, along with numerous Japanese and Chinese works. The database includes numerous multimedia files.

An administration fee of £50 per invoice will be charged on invoices in excess of £600. This fee covers JISC Collections' administration and invoicing costs.
For institutions who subscribe to the Art Museum Image Gallery and Cinema Image Gallery Package, and who are also subscribed to Art Full Text or Art Abstracts, the discount offered will be "full price -30%".
How does JISC Banding and Charging work?
Subscription
The agreement runs from 1st August 2009 to 31st July 2012. Institutions may subscribe at any time and may terminate the agreement in 31st July 2010 or 31st July 2011 by giving JISC Collections sixty days notice to that effect.

High quality cataloguing and metadata standards. Each piece of work has basic cataloguing information and some works are enhanced with associated information such as curatorial texts, detailed provenance history, multiple views of the work, sound and video.

Usage statistics
Usage statistics reports are ICOLC compliant. COUNTER compliancy approvals for Release 1 were received for Journal Report 1 and Database Reports 1, 2 and 3. COUNTER Release 2 approvals for these reports are expected shortly.

Authentication is via the UK Access Management Federation, Athens, and IP range.
