Journals Usage Statistics Portal - benefits to librarians and publishers

placeholder image

In order to evaluate the usage of their NESLi2 journal agreements, librarians have to remember multiple usernames and passwords, visit each publisher site and download the statistics and then visit their intermediaries sites and do the same. They then have to cross reference and normalise the data before they can even commence the task of working out the usage and the value of each deal. This process is time consuming and complex.

The Journals Usage Statistics Portal has been designed to help libraries harvest journal usage data more efficiently and is pioneering the way in the use of the SUSHI protocol to automatically harvest data. JUSP will save librarians time by providing a single location from which to compare and analyse usage data.

Two new brochures, explaining the benefits and advantages of JUSP for librarians and publishers have been made available on the JUSP website.

There is also a video introducing JUSP

Currently there are 34 libraries participating  in JUSP and 5 of the NESLi2 publishers. We are working hard to encourage the other NESLi2 publishers to join. If you are interested in joining JUSP and would like to see what it offers, you can view a 'dummy institution' account.
