Business Development Manager - academic services

Freelance post up to £50K for 12 months

In early 2011, JISC Collection will launch three new services that will provide UK higher and further education with a wide range of scholarly information to support education and research:

  • Historic books and monographs (digitised books from the 16th to 19th centuries)
  • UK Archives Platform (digital archive of peer reviewed journals)
  • Mediahub (3000 hours of film and 50,000 still images recording UK and world history)

A Business Development Manager (or consultancy) is sought to explore and implement business models that will ensure the sustainability of these services while maintaining the widest possible access and affordability for the academic community.

The successful applicant will have a proven record of accomplishment in developing income generation models for digital assets and will understand how technology can be used to ensure innovative and sustainable business models.

Those invited for interview will be asked to give a 15-minute presentation that will demonstrate innovative and entrepreneurial ideas and a proven record of implementing those ideas.
