UK Access Management Federation WAYF changes

Changes to the user interface of the UK federation WAYF on 15th August 2011

Further details can be found here:

Essentially however;

The WAYF becomes a much cleaner, simpler white page incorporating a search box with screen space for the logo of the service the user is trying to log in to.

Because of this, you may wish to consider modifying any local guidance you offer about logging in to services using federated access management - particularly where you have included screenshots.

These logo and branding features depend on identity providers (Institutions) and service providers (Publishers) providing the relevant information to the UK federation helpdesk.

Please encourage the technical staff at your institution or organisation to provide to the UK federation helpdesk the information requested in the link below:

The intent of these changes is to simplify the federated login process, especially for new users and is based on a programme of user experience testing. Some further background around discovery and login can be found in this presentation by Rod Widdowson given to the JISC UK federation Service Provider workshop in July.
