We are pleased to announce a new agreement with World Bank to offer access to the World Bank e-Library.
This resource brings together, in a fully-indexed and cross-searchable database, over 5,500 titles in PDF format published by the World Bank since 2000, as well as every new title as it becomes available in print.
Core subject areas covered include: Global Economics; International Business, Trade, Finance and Development; Social & Behavioural Sciences (with focus on Development and Poverty).
Interdisciplinary applications include: Technology & Science (energy, environment, conservation and natural resources); World Cultures; Geography; History; International Law and Policy.
World Bank e-Library is an excellent companion resource to the three key World Bank datasets (World Development Indicators, Global Development Finance and Africa Development Indicators) that are available to all JISC Collections members for free through ESDS International.
Although a proportion of the content of the World Bank e-Library (approximately 70%) is freely available on the Bank's website, subscribers will also gain access to online journal content that is not otherwise accessible, as well as final published versions of books and working papers.
They will also benefit from the superior functionality of the e-Library database, and its efficient search engine. Each article, book, and working paper is enriched with semantic and bibliographic metadata, including topics, regions, countries, abstracts and key words using a controlled vocabulary.
World Bank e-Library is available by subscription with an annual opt out clause.
Please contact Ben Taplin if you require any further information.
