JISC Collections is pleased to announce that levels of uptake of the UKPressOnline agreement have triggered an additional 2.5% discount on prices for our members.
UKPressOnline is a newspaper archive that features the complete as-published content of the Daily Mirror, the Daily and Sunday Express, The Star and the Star on Sunday. It is available on subscription or as an outright purchase, in single titles or in packages.
Recently added new content includes “The Watchman and Wesleyan Advertiser”, the precursor of the Methodist Recorder, launched in the immediate aftermath of the Tolpuddle Martyrs. The archive, from the first issue in 1835 to the last in 1884, is virtually complete.
Also offered as a separate package is “World War II – The Rise of Hitler to the Fall of Churchill (1933-45)” which offers free-text-searchable, as-published pages of that period in:
- Daily Mirror
- Daily Express
- Yorkshire Post
- Action! and Blackshirt (British Union of Fascists publications)
- Daily Worker (Communist Party of Great Britain publication)
giving a daily account of the causes and progress of WWII across a wide political and geographical spectrum in the newspapers of the day.
