The MERIT project collated every UK institution's submissions to the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise. In 2010 we made available the MERIT database, which as well as including all the articles included in the RAE2008, includes other outputs such as book chapters, conference papers, and multimedia.
Since we made the MERIT database available on the 28 October 2010, 3482 searches have been made and the search results have been downloaded 521 times.
At the University of St Andrews, library staff have been making use of the MERIT database to encourage research staff to deposit their full text articles in the institutional repository. Jackie Proven, Repository Support Officer, describes MERIT as a ‘valuable resource’ and a ‘nice tidy solution’ and a ‘valuable way to start dialogue with our researchers.’
