Colonial and Missionary Records

This collection offers a wealth of primary material relating to Britain’s global presence from the eighteenth century onwards in countries such as colonial America, South America, India, parts of Africa, Australia and New Zealand. In addition, there is a strong emphasis on the slave trade.

 

British Records on the Atlantic World, 1700-1900

A collection of archives spanning two centuries of Britain's colonial, commercial, missionary and even literary relations with Africa and the Americas.

 

Twentieth Century Political History

This series forms a collection of titles chiefly concerned with both the mainstream and extreme manifestations of British politics from the inter-war period to the end of the century, including the papers of the Parliamentary Labour Party between 1968 and 1994, and the newspapers and secret files of the British Union of Fascists.

 

Communist Party of Great Britain, 1920-1991

One of the outstanding national collections for the political history of the British left: records of the party's central leading bodies and central departments such as the industrial department and the international department, which maintained links with communist parties overseas.

 

British Broadcasting Corporation

All the handbooks, annual reports and accounts published by the BBC during the twentieth century, and the findings of the Listener Research Department (LRD) between 1937 and 1950.
