Grove Art Online

Grove Art Online covers all aspects of the visual arts from prehistory to the present day, from art and architecture to ceramics and photography.

It gives online access to the entire text of over 50,000 articles from the 34 volume Dictionary of Art, the Encyclopedia of Aesthetics, the Concise Oxford Dictionary of Art Terms, and the Oxford Companion to Western Art.

Updated regularly, it also includes newly-commissioned articles, extensive bibliographies, an expanding range of images embedded in the article text (currently over 2,000), linking via partnerships to other subject specific online resources such as ARTstor, and thousands of links to images, and to museums and galleries worldwide.

Grove Music Online

Grove Music Online includes the full text of the New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians, the Oxford Companion to Music, the Oxford Dictionary of Music, the New Grove Dictionary of Opera, and the New Grove Dictionary of Jazz. Completed entries from the major new edition of New Grove Dictionary of American Music will be added on a regular basis.

This resource also includes learning resources and timelines, Sibelius enabled audio examples, external audio links at article level to Classical Music Library, and article-level links to the RILM database of music bibliography.

There is also a wealth of biographical information about printers and publishers, performers, composers, and writers.
