Brill Digital Archival Collections 2017 - Jisc Digital Archival Collections group purchasing pilot

Brill is making available the following seven digital archival collections at discounted prices as part of the Jisc Digital Archival Collections group purchasing pilot which runs from March – July 2017.

Jisc is working with a small number of publishers on this initiative which aims to support institutions with a more efficient, coordinated and transparent approach to the acquisition of digital archival collections. The pilot leverages the collective purchasing power of institutions thus widening access to digital archival collections. The more Brill products are bought by institutions across any of the seven collections below, the lower the price.

Institutions can select products at any time between March-July 2017 by using this form.

The pledging period will close on 15 July 2017, after which the final price for each product will be calculated according to how many Brill products have been bought cumulatively by institutions.

Brill is making available the following seven digital archival collections at discounted prices:

Brill Journal Archive Online 2013 - 2018

Brill Journal Archive Online, Parts 1 and 1a (Vol 1 to 1999) and Part 2 (2000-2009) have been purchased in perpetuity by JISC Collections and are available free of charge to UK Higher and Further Education institutions and Research Councils. This catalogue entry and the appended sub-licence agreement replaces the previously separate entries and sub-licence agreements for Parts 1 and 1a, and Part 2. The publisher has confirmed that it will not make an access fee charge for this renewal period. An access fee may apply from 2019. Alternatively, institutions can host the content for a one-off payment (see the Pricing and Subscription Information tab) or access the Brill Journal Archives via JISC Journal Archives.

British History Online Premium Content 2013 - 2018

British History Online is a non-profit digital library of the core printed primary and secondary sources of British history from 1100 to the mid-twentieth century, with a focus on the medieval and early modern period. The free content consists of approximately 1095 volumes. The Premium Content allows access to an additional 184 volumes, which include: the Calendar of State Papers; Domestic and the Calendars of State Papers for Scotland and Ireland; the Calendars of Border Papers; the Calendars of Home Office Papers of George III; the Parliament Rolls of Medieval England; the National Archives Calendar of Close Rolls; the Calendars of the Committee for the Advancement of Money; and the Calendars of the Committee for Compounding. The online calendar texts are fully searchable, and access to their original page scans (where applicable) is also available for subscribers.
