Welcome to the library advisors forum

We want to work collaboratively with librarians to help develop our licensing, projects and research programmes in line with your needs. Our forum is open to all library members who wish to participate in task and finish groups.

What is a task and finish group?

A task and finish group will focus on a specific area of work or on a specific activity and is time limited. The aim is to scope out the issue, agree a solution and undertake the work within an agreed timetable.

We are setting up a Mediahub task and fininsh group. This groups task will be to provide advice, feedback and ideas to JISC Collections and EDINA on the development of the new single mutlimedia platform that is being developed to house the Film and Sound Online collections, the NewsFilm Online collections and the Digital Images for Education collections.

If you wish to join this new group, please contact Caren Milloy

How the forum works

Topics for task and finish groups can be identified in a number of ways:

  • by the journals and e-resources working group
  • by the stakeholder group
  • by projects managers and project boards
  • by members of the forum
  • by members of the community through discussions on library lists

When a task and finish group is initiated, we will update the forum web pages and invite you to participate.

The idea is that this will allow you to participate in groups of interest to you and that maximise on your strengths and expertise. It will also help us to harness experience across a wide range of universities and colleges.

Some task and finish groups will require librarians and publishers to work together.
