The Journals working group guides our NESLi2 activities, provides advice
on priorities for e-resource licensing and helps us to develop tools that
support collection management by libraries. Chaired by Hazel Woodward, the group meets three times a year.
The group is currently re-defining its terms of reference, but currently its core remit is to:
- continue to support national negotiations designed to lower the cost of access to online journals
- facilitate debate and, where appropriate, action to help implement possible long term solutions to the spiraling costs of scholarly communication
- promote the wider adoption of e–print archives and other models of the dissemination of scholarly information in the UK
The group has also commissioned a number of reports. Further details can be found in our Reports section.
