The concept of community underpins our work, and we are supported by two advisory groups. Experts in their field, the members of these groups donate their time and provide us with advice to steer our licensing and research activities.
Our Stakeholder Group membership includes representatives from UK HE libraries, research councils, publishing houses, the JISC executive, and the JISC data centres. The group advises us on our role as a facilitator in market place, mediating between the publishing industry and the Higher Education community.
This group was established in 2010. Its role is to provide advice on collecting and development priorities through a process which identifies and responds to user needs and supports the execution of the JISC Collections Corporate Plan.
This forum enables us to discuss ideas with our members and to collaborate on specific tasks that require focused activity. The forum is open to all our institutional members.
Previous Working Groups
Our previous working groups included e-books, Images and the Library Advisory Working Group. These groups are now closed but were instrumental in creating clear policies for the acquisition of content and our service to member institutions. They also commissioned a range of research projects, the results of which are still relevant today. The Journals Working Group has been succeded by the Electronic Information Resources Working Group.
This group is supported by JISC and provides advice on opportunities, challenges and priority areas emerging in the geospatial area, broadly conceived. This role relates to matters of concern to JISC Innovation and Services as well as to JISC Collections.
